Zoi Kyrkou

Research Associate Ii, Discovery - Liver at Scribe Therapeutics

Zoi Kyrkou has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Starting in 2018, they worked as a Summer School Counsellor at Oxford Royale Academy, where they provided pastoral care to students and organized extracurricular activities. In 2019, Zoi was a Research Intern in Immunology at King's College London, conducting research on the cholesterol biosynthesis pathway's role in anti-tumour T cell responses. The following year, they participated in the annual summer internship program at Pharmathen, where they trained in analytical development and performed High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) experiments. Zoi then worked as a Formulation Engineering Intern at Elpen Pharmaceutical Co. Inc., participating in the design and analysis of tablet formulations. In 2022, they joined UPMC as a Research Assistant, investigating the role of the p53 tumor suppressor gene in inducing anti-tumor immune responses. Currently, Zoi is a Research Associate at Scribe Therapeutics, focusing on liver discovery. Throughout their work experience, Zoi has developed strong analytical, project-management, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Zoi Kyrkou pursued their education in chronological order, starting with their Master of Science in Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at King's College London, where they obtained a Master of Science in Biochemistry from 2017 to 2021. Before their university studies, Zoi attended Platon School, where they obtained an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme from 2015 to 2017 and an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) Certificate from 2010 to 2015.

Zoi also possesses additional certification in First Aid, which they obtained from the Oxford Royale Academy in July 2018.
