Lauren Hargis

Lauren Hargis is a doctoral student at Scripps Research since August 2022, transitioning from a successful tenure at Mirati Therapeutics, where roles included Scientist, Senior Associate Scientist, and Associate Scientist from June 2017 to August 2022. Prior to that, Lauren Hargis served as the Women's Lacrosse Junior Varsity Head Coach at Torrey Pines High School in 2018 and worked as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Davis from January 2016 to June 2017, focusing on biochemical regulation related to replication stress. Initial research experience includes a Research Assistant Intern position at Mirati Therapeutics from June 2014 to September 2016, contributing to cancer research through cell line experiments and data analysis. Lauren Hargis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics and Genomics from the University of California, Davis and participated in a study abroad program in Genetics at both Stockholm University and the University of Cambridge in 2015.
