Christelle Scharff

Christelle Scharff has an extensive work experience in the field of computer science and technology. Christelle is currently serving as the Associate Dean and Professor of Computer Science at Pace University since 2021 and 2014 respectively. Christelle has also held the position of Chair of the Computer Science Department at Pace University from 2013 to 2019, where they managed various computer science programs, designed program schedules, organized tutoring support, and led the assessment process. During their tenure, they introduced new programs and courses, hired faculty members, and facilitated collaborations with other schools.

In addition to their work at Pace University, Christelle Scharff has also been involved in various entrepreneurial and community initiatives. Christelle co-founded and served as the CEO of mJangale, a company dedicated to providing mobile technology solutions. Christelle also worked as an Instructor at Cyborg Mobile and held the role of Expert for the World Summit Award (WSA) for Senegal at WSA.

Furthermore, Christelle Scharff has been actively engaged in the technology community in Senegal. Christelle co-founded MobileSenegal, a platform focused on promoting mobile technology, and served as a co-organizer for Mobile Monday Dakar and the Mobile Innovations Dakar Meetup. Christelle is also a Certified Scrum Master and has participated as a Fellow at the Applied Innovation Institute.

In 2019, they were selected as a Fulbright Scholar at University Alioune in Bambey, Senegal, where they conducted research and academic activities.

Christelle Scharff received a PhD in Artificial Intelligence / Theoretical Computer Science from Universite de Lorraine from 1995 to 1999. In 2014, they obtained a certification in Lean LaunchPad Educator from Stanford University.
