Michael Matsumura

Michael Hideki Matsumura, CFA, is a seasoned investment professional currently serving as a Partner at Scrum Ventures since March 2023. Prior to this role, Michael held various positions at SoftBank from April 2019 to March 2023, including Vice President and Director within the Investment Division's Business Development Unit. Experience also includes managing projects at The Lantau Group and working as an Energy Sector Specialist at Arup, where contributions were made to LNG and CCGT projects in Southeast Asia. Michael's academic background consists of a Master's degree in Sustainable Energy Technologies from Delft University of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from UCL, alongside being a CFA charterholder since 2014. Additional roles include thesis research at Deltares and board membership with The Energy Club in the Delft Energy Initiative.
