Joost Verlaat

Joost Verlaat has a strong background in Engineering and Project Coordination. Joost is currently working as an E&I Engineer (lead) at SCW systems since May 2021. Prior to that, they worked at CoNet as a Projectcoördinator, where they were responsible for tasks such as converting security concepts into software for high-voltage protection relays, evaluating new and existing installations, and assisting the project manager with various tasks. Joost also worked at Gasunie for a considerable period, where they held roles such as Coordinator of Maintenance E&I and POS-team leader. In these roles, they were responsible for overseeing maintenance planning, managing budgets, coordinating projects, and ensuring the smooth transition from project phase to operational phase. Joost started their career as an Installatietechnicus and gained valuable experience in the field before moving into managerial positions.

Joost Verlaat began their education in 1987 at MBO College West Friesland, where they studied Energietechniek until 1991. After a significant gap in their education, Joost enrolled in Siemens Professional Education in 2019 to pursue a degree in Functional Safety Professional. Currently, they are attending Siemens Power Academy since 2020, where they are studying to become an Installatieverantwoordelijke NEN3140/3840.
