Lakiesha Smith has a diverse background in customer service and rehabilitation support, currently serving as a Rehab Therapy Technician at Encompass Health since March 2019, where responsibilities include assisting rehabilitation nurses and therapists while managing patient inquiries. Simultaneously, Lakiesha holds a position as a Customer Service Associate at Amazon, providing professional support for customers and drivers. Previous experience includes roles as Leasing Manager at Intermark Management Corp and Leasing Professional at Cypress Run, LLC., where tasks involved market surveys, resident applications, and local business promotions. Lakiesha's early career included administrative work at the University of South Carolina, where organizational and customer service skills were honed. Lakiesha earned a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies and Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina, following graduation from T L Hanna High School.

The South Carolina Youth Advocate Program (SCYAP) is South Carolina’s premier provider of foster care and community-based services. We are a private, non-profit, 501(c)3 child-placing and family-serving organization. SCYAP has served children and families in South Carolina since 1990. SCYAP programs promote individualized treatment, flexible programming, case and cause advocacy, community-based services, and a positive approach to treating children and working with families. We have a comprehensive array of programs and services to children and families dealing with serious emotional, behavioral, psychological and/or development issues.
