Carlos Alberto Catalina Ortega is a highly experienced professional in software development and evaluation, currently serving as Software Director for Augmented Reality and Simulation products at Seabery since October 2020. Additionally, Carlos evaluates R&D proposals as an independent expert for the Agencia Nacional de Evaluación y Prospectiva ANEP. Prior leadership roles include Director of the Simulation Technologies Unit at Instituto Tecnologico de Castilla y Leon from 2004 to October 2020 and contributions as an external consultant for startups at Escuela de Organización Industrial. Carlos's involvement in academia includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering and Industrial Organization from Universidad de Burgos, along with multiple degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from various universities. Carlos's expertise spans Virtual Reality, Simulation, Serious Games, and Augmented Reality, with active participation in professional committees, including a role with ACM SIGGRAPH.
