Claes currently holds the position of Director at Steelox Consulting and Chief Technical Officer at SEACOM LTD, where Claes oversees various aspects of the company's operations. In previous roles, Claes has managed network rollouts for major clients such as Aforma AB and TATA Group at Jupiter Technology Ltd, and headed up Parsons Brinckerhoff's Telecommunications Business line in the Asia Region. Their experience also includes managing the construction and operation of submarine networks at AsiaNetcom and overseeing network implementation at Unisource Satellite Services.

Originally envisioned by a group of African investors in 2007, SEACOM is a privately owned and operated pan-African ICT enabler, offering a best-in-class quality of service international network. The funding and development of Africa’s first broadband submarine cable system along Africa’s eastern and southern coastlines heralded SEACOM’s entry into the African ICT landscape.
