Alec Spedding

Alec Spedding serves as the Head of Mechanical Systems at Seadrill, overseeing drilling and marine mechanical systems as well as asset reliability teams since March 2021. Previously, Alec held several technical management roles within Seadrill, including Technical Manager for the reliability department and Technical Superintendent for drilling equipment, focusing on optimizing maintenance and supporting rig teams in the Eastern Hemisphere. Earlier positions included Manager of Shared Capital Equipment and CBM Maintenance Manager, responsible for global equipment planning and maintenance oversight. Alec's career began as an Engine Room Operator at Seadrill, and prior experience includes various engineering roles at Holland America Line. Alec holds a BEng in Mechanical and Marine Engineering from Liverpool John Moores University and a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Liverpool.
