Rahil Ulises Ortiz Leyva

Rahil Ulises Ortiz Leyva has extensive maritime engineering experience, currently serving as Assistant Technical Section Leader at Seadrill on the 7th generation ultra-deepwater drillship “Sonangol Libongos” since January 2023. Previously with Seadrill, Rahil worked as a Rig Mechanic and Engine Room Operator on multiple high-spec drillships. Early career highlights include roles at Cotemar, S.A. de C.V., and CSAV, where responsibilities encompassed preventive and corrective maintenance of various engine types and auxiliary systems across different vessels, including container ships and specialized marine craft. Rahil is an alumnus of Escuela Nautica de Mazatlan and the Merchant Marine Academy in Mazatlán, holding degrees in Naval Mechanical Engineering and Marine Engineering.
