Head Of Fisheries Management at Seafish

Lewis Tattersall has a diverse work experience in the field of fishery management and sustainability. Lewis has worked at Seafish as the Head of Fisheries Management, where they led the Fisheries Management Team and facilitated national fisheries co-management groups. Lewis was also the Marine Sustainability Manager, responsible for coordinating shellfish co-management groups to develop fisheries management plans. Prior to Seafish, Lewis worked at the British Antarctic Survey as a Fisheries Biologist and Deputy Station Leader, conducting research on various fisheries and contributing to other research initiatives. Lewis also worked as an Economics Researcher at Seafish, focusing on data collection and analysis, as well as contributing to industry groups and projects. Lewis started their career as a Project Coordinator for the Scottish Shark Tagging Programme, where they conducted data analysis, managed volunteers, and contributed to the protection of sharks in Scottish waters.

Lewis Tattersall completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Applied Marine Biology at Heriot-Watt University from 2006 to 2010. Lewis then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in International Marine Environmental Consultancy at Newcastle University from 2010 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, Lewis also obtained several additional certifications including a First Aid Certificate from Emergency First Response, a National Progression Award in Sports Coaching: Angling (SCQF Level 5) from the Scottish Qualifications Authority, and a Rescue Diver certification from PADI.
