Bo Lei

Bo Lei is an AI/ML Engineer at Seagate Technology since August 2025, with prior experience as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory from April 2023 to August 2025, focusing on leveraging High Performance Computing (HPC) for AI and data-driven innovations in energy and manufacturing. Notable projects include developing data-driven surrogate models for computational fluid dynamics simulations. Bo Lei also contributed as a Graduate Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University from January 2018 to December 2022, where research centered on machine learning and computer vision algorithms for materials microstructure analysis. Additional experience includes a Data Science internship at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in summer 2022, where a physics-informed graph neural network was designed and implemented. Bo Lei holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering and two master's degrees in Machine Learning and Materials Science and Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as a BS in Chemistry from Peking University.
