Jeff Newton

Jeff Newton is an experienced legal professional with a robust background in intellectual property and commercial transactions. Currently serving as Principal Counsel and Regional Compliance Officer at Seagate Technology since July 2019, Jeff has led legal matters for the storage-as-a-service business and key accounts, negotiating and drafting numerous complex licenses across various agreement types. Prior to this role, Jeff held the position of Corporate Counsel and Senior Strategic Intellectual Property Alliances Manager at Broadcom from December 2005 to 2019, managing legal affairs across multiple divisions. Moreover, Jeff accrued significant experience at Agilent Technologies as Senior Intellectual Property Licensing Manager and in various roles at Hewlett-Packard Company. Jeff's academic credentials include a Legal Letters Master in International Business Transactions from the University of Denver, a Juris Doctor with a specialization in Intellectual Property from Laurel University and St. Francis University, an MBA in Accounting and Finance from Oregon State University, and a BA in Corporate Finance from the University of Utah.
