Michael Braun

Michael Braun is a highly skilled process engineer currently serving as a Staff Engineer at Seagate Technology since May 2022, specializing in vacuum deposition and ion beam etching for the production of magnetic hard drive heads. Prior to this role, Michael was a Senior Engineer and PhD Candidate at Stanford University from August 2015 to March 2022, focusing on the synthesis and characterization of germanium and tin-based nanowires. Michael has also worked as a 3D Printing Trainer and Technician at Stanford, where responsibilities included training users and maintaining 3D printers. Earlier experience includes undergraduate research at the University of Minnesota, where Michael developed sputtering targets and conducted thin film characterization. Michael holds a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in the same field from the University of Minnesota.
