Neil McDonnell

Neil McDonnell is the CEO and co-founder of Seal Rock Therapeutics. Neil has over fifteen years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, with a focus on metabolic diseases.

Neil started their career as a vice president at ZymoGenetics, a biopharmaceutical company. Neil then moved to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where they served as chief of staff for the Global Health Program and deputy director of strategy for the Global Health Program. In 2012, Neil joined Takeda Pharmaceuticals as senior vice president for the Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases therapeutic area.

In 2015, Neil co-founded Metacrine, Inc., a venture-backed biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for metabolic diseases. As CEO of Metacrine, Neil led the company through its Series A and B financing rounds and oversaw the development of two new drug programs. In 2016, Neil transitioned to Seal Rock Therapeutics, where they are now responsible for leading the company's R&D efforts.

Neil McDonnell is a pharmacist who graduated from the University of Washington. Neil now works in a pharmacy.
