Maarten Berkhout

Maarten Berkhout has a diverse and extensive work experience in the energy sector. Maarten'smost recent role is a board member and treasurer at the EWA: Dutch Energy from Water Association since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked at SeaQurrent® as the director of projects and co-founder since January 2016, where they focused on the deployment of TidalKite-based SeaCurrent power plants.

Maarten also owned Jump Energy, a consultancy in the energy sector with a focus on innovation support, from December 2014 to December 2020. Maarten worked as the manager of strategic accounts at Triogen, a company that produces and sells ORC machines for electricity generation from residual heat, from January 2015 to August 2017.

From 2011 to 2014, Maarten held various positions at Vattenfall, including manager of R&D business development and director of strategic innovation. Maarten also served as a board member at TKI-gas from June 2012 to June 2014.

Maarten's earlier work experience includes roles at ETP ZEPP task force D&I, Buizenzone, Nuon, and Reliant Energy Europe. At ETP ZEPP task force D&I, they served as a member and advised on the deployment of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies. Maarten was a project director at Nuon for the Magnum Gasification & CCS project and also held positions related to procurement, business development, and project management.

Maarten Berkhout pursued their education at Maastricht University from 1994 to 1999. During this time, they obtained a Masters degree in Econometrics with a specialization in Operations Research.
