Search for Common Ground
Judy Kimamo serves as the Director at Search for Common Ground since February 2015, focusing on health citizen-state relations in Kenya and Africa. As a volunteer with Ihithe Aberdares Community Self Help Group since July 2010, Judy actively connects the community with local and international opportunities, initiating projects such as digital schools, energy-saving cook-stoves, tree planting, water harvesting, and youth-led enterprises. Previously, as an Advocacy and Fundraising Program Officer at Women's Empowerment Link, Judy developed platforms for pro-women legislation and coordinated advocacy efforts for significant legislative changes. Judy's early career includes a role as a Rural Development Specialist at The Green Belt Movement, where community mobilization and civic education for natural resource management were priorities. Judy is currently pursuing a Master's in Development Studies at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, having previously earned a Bachelor's degree in Botany and Zoology from the same institution.
