Luke Thompson is an experienced marine engineer with a comprehensive background in marine operations and engineering roles spanning over a decade. Currently serving as First Engineer at SeaRoad since March 2015, Luke contributed to the commissioning of the world's first LNG-powered pure dry bulk roll on/roll off cargo ship. Previous positions include Chief Engineer at ASP Ship Management’s MV Larcom, and various second engineer roles on vessels such as the SapuraKencana Constructor with Australian Offshore Solutions, and the CSD Athena with Van Oord, which focused on dredging operations. Luke's early career includes roles at Chevron and as a cadet engineer at both bp and Carnival Corporation. Educationally, Luke holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the Australian Maritime College and a Certificate in Transport Operations from TAFE Queensland.
