SeaSol Technologies is developing regenerative seaweed-based materials that replace petrochemical plastics in food packaging.

Our proprietary coating technology transforms cultivated seaweed into a plastic-free barrier for paper food packaging. The result is grease-resistant, flavorless, compostable packaging suitable for common food-service applications such as sandwich wraps, donut bags, and pizza liners.

SeaSol’s process is designed to integrate with existing paper packaging manufacturing systems, enabling converters and food-service brands to transition away from plastic-lined paper without changing their production infrastructure.

We source cultivated seaweed from farms in the Northeastern United States, supporting coastal economies while improving ocean ecosystems. Seaweed farming naturally absorbs carbon, improves water quality, and requires no land, freshwater, or fertilizers.

Our mission is to align packaging materials with natural biological cycles—eliminating persistent plastic waste while delivering scalable solutions for the global food packaging industry.
