Jerry Schubel has been working in the field of marine sciences for over 50 years. Jerry started their career at Johns Hopkins University, where they worked as the associate director of the Chesapeake Bay Institute. In 1974, they took a position as the dean of marine sciences at Stony Brook University, where they worked for 20 years. In 1994, they became the president and CEO of the New England Aquarium, where they worked for seven years. In 2001, they left the New England Aquarium to become an advisor at Seatrec.
Jerry Schubel earned their PhD in oceanography from Johns Hopkins University. Jerry also holds an MAT from Harvard University and a B.S. from Alma College in physics and math.
