Innovation Strategist at Seattle Children's Healthcare System

Herman Chan is an experienced innovation strategist and design professional with a strong background in industrial design and leadership. Currently serving as an Innovation Strategist at Seattle Children's since November 2022, Herman leads design and strategy initiatives to enhance pediatric healthcare. As a Co-Founder and Principal of Juno since September 2021, responsibilities include overseeing marketing and communication efforts for a company focused on sustainable, design-oriented products for families. Herman has been an active Board Member and Chair of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) since January 2020, fostering inclusivity in the design community. Previous roles include Co-Founder at formfuture, where Herman led design methods to solve complex problems, and Senior Industrial Designer at Amazon, contributing to the development of Amazon Go. Additionally, experience at TEAGUE and Boeing included pioneering product experiences and future aircraft interiors for major mobility brands. Herman holds a BDes in Industrial Design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design and continues education at Weißensee Kunsthochschule Berlin.
