Michael Buck is a Traditional Medicine Practitioner at the Seattle Indian Health Board, responsible for harvesting traditional foods and medicines and serving as a Sweatlodge Ceremonial Fire-Keeper since July 2023. Prior to this role, Michael worked as a Research Coordinator at the University of Washington's Indigenous Wellness Research Institute from March 2020 to September 2023, focusing on community-based participatory research on the Healing Seasons initiative. Michael is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Marine and Environmental Affairs at the University of Washington, expected to graduate in May 2024, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Heritage University, completed in 2019.
