Raja Estes is a dedicated graduate student at the Vollum Institute within the Neuroscience Graduate Program at Oregon Health & Science University since August 2022. Currently functioning as a laboratory technician at the Seattle Institute for Biomedical and Clinical Research, Raja focuses on the cellular effects of a mutation linked to early-onset familial Parkinson's disease. Previous experience includes working as an undergraduate research assistant in the Kaeberlein Lab, concentrating on Alzheimer's disease and aging, and serving as a mentor to fellow STEM students as a WSOS Scholar Lead. Raja has also held roles in outreach and recruitment for the University of Washington Neurobiology Club and completed an immunology research internship at Eli Lilly and Company. Raja holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a focus on Physiology from the University of Washington and an Associate of Arts degree from Grays Harbor College.
