Dave Hakstol

Head Coach at Seattle Kraken

Dave Hakstol is the current head coach of the Seattle Kraken. Dave was previously a professor at Seattle Central College from March 2020 to July 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a brand designer at Amazon from September 2018 to February 2020. Dave has also worked as a design instructor at School of Visual Concepts from January 2017 to May 2017, and as a design director at Hum Creative from May 2012 to August 2018. Dave began their career as a graphic design intern at Pyramid Communications from June 2010 to September 2010, and then as a design intern at Cornish College of the Arts from June 2010 to September 2010. Dave has also been self-employed as a brand designer from February 2020 to February 2021. Dave Hakstol founded Make Something New in May 2006 and ran it until July 2010.

Dave Hakstol has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication from Cornish College of the Arts.

Dave Hakstol reports to Ron Francis, General Manager. Paul McFarland - Assistant Coach, Tim Ohashi - Video Coach, and Andrew Allen - Assistant Coach report to Dave Hakstol. They are on a team with Jason Botterill - Assistant General Manager, Robert Kron - Director, Amateur Scouting, and Norm MacIver - Director, Player Personnel.
