Lokela Alexander Minami

Associate Director, Community Engagement at Seattle Opera

Lokela Alexander Minami is the Community Engagement Manager at Seattle Opera. Prior to this, they worked as an International Program Coordinator for German programs and Program Development Manager at NorthWest Student Exchange. Lokela has also worked as the Director of Operations at OneWorld Now!, where they were responsible for providing administrative support for the organization's critical language education and youth leadership development programs, as well as coordinating large fundraiser events.

Lokela Alexander Minami earned a Master of Arts in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Washington, Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies. Lokela also completed a certificate program in Arabic Language and Literature at The American University in Cairo. Lokela holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Washington, one in Political Science and Government and the other in German Language and Literature.

Lokela Alexander Minami reports to Christina Scheppelmann, General Director. They are on a team with Ben Rampley - Assistant Technical Director, Nate Murray - Head Flyman, and Michaella Calzaretta - Head of Music Staff & Chorus Master.
