Maria Leon-Roman

Maria Leon-Roman is an experienced librarian with a focus on children's services at The Seattle Public Library since May 2022, currently serving as a Children's Services Librarian and previously as a Floating Librarian. Maria has developed expertise in providing reference and reader's advisory services, as well as proficiency in building de-escalation skills and knowledge of the Rules of Conduct. Prior roles include Library Intern at Placentia Library, Library Associate II and I at The Seattle Public Library, and a Preservations Student Assistant at the University of Washington Libraries. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Washington.
