Shawna Dennard

Shawna Dennard currently serves as the Interim Human Resources Manager at The Seattle Public Library since May 2024, having held the role of Human Resources Business Partner since April 2017, focusing on talent acquisition, ADA accommodations, benefits, leaves, and workers' compensation. Previously, Shawna worked for the Seattle Fire Department from August 2008 to April 2017, managing payroll and benefits for over 1,100 employees as Payroll/Benefits Manager. Earlier experience includes roles as Education Consultant and Training Manager at King County Department of Executive Services, where training was provided to over 1,000 employees, and Chief Executive Officer at Tendercare Childcare and Early Learning, where strategic and operational leadership was delivered. Shawna’s extensive background encompasses human resources, payroll management, employee training, and early childhood education.
