Valerie Garrett-Turner

Valerie Garrett-Turner is an experienced library professional, currently serving as the Information & Instruction Services Manager at The Seattle Public Library since January 1998. In this role, Valerie supervises the Virtual Instruction Services Team and facilitates a system-wide network of Adult Services Librarians working on diverse projects. Previous positions include Assistant Managing Librarian for Reference and Reader Services, where Valerie co-managed operations for multiple library units, and various librarian roles focusing on reference assistance and collection management. Valerie's educational background includes a Master of Library Science from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from American University, along with certifications from the Public Library Association and Leadership Institute.
