Liz Kane

Liz Kane is the Orchestra Personnel Manager at Seattle Symphony. Prior to their current position, Liz was the Chief Research Editor at Arts Management and Technology Lab and the Orchestral Operations Coordinator & Orchestra Manager at Aspen Music Festival and School.

Liz has a passion for music and arts management. As the Chief Research Editor at Arts Management and Technology Lab, they edited all content posted to the AMT-Lab blog, posting 2-3 times per week. Liz also lead 10 blog contributors to ensure consistent and high-quality content. In addition, they tracked data in Google Analytics, aiming for 8% growth in readership, and maintaining 30% of current readers. Furthermore, they worked with management team of 3 to hire a social media manager position.

As the Orchestral Operations Coordinator & Orchestra Manager at Aspen Music Festival and School, Liz executed auditions for 600 incoming students. Liz also handled placements for students across 6 orchestras, including troubleshooting conflicts with high-caliber faculty from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Met Opera Orchestra, The LA Philharmonic among others. Additionally, Liz managed the orchestra for Special Concerts featuring artists such as Rufus Wainwright and James Nicholas McGegan, OBE. Lastly, they acted as an orchestra manager for Aspen Chamber Ensemble for one cycle and for Aspen Chamber Symphony for one cycle, when the regular orchestra manager was not available.

Liz’s experience in music and arts management makes their a valuable asset to Seattle Symphony.

Liz Kane has a Master’s Degree in Arts, Entertainment, and Media Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Liz also has a BM in Music Performance, Horn from Ithaca College. Lastly, they have a High School Diploma from Chelmsford High School.

They are on a team with Dmitriy Lipay - Director of Audio & Recording, Joseph E. Cook - Technical Director, and Ana Hinz - Production Manager. and Keith Higgins - Orchestra Assistant Personnel Manager reports to Liz Kane. Liz Kane reports to Kelly Woodhouse Boston, Senior Director of Operations.
