Seattle Symphony
Scott Farkas is an accomplished percussion educator and musician with extensive teaching experience at various institutions. Currently serving as an adjunct music teacher at South Puget Sound Community College and Pierce College, Scott specializes in percussion lessons and general music education. Additionally, Scott is actively engaged with Graham Kapowsin High School as a percussion teacher and performs as an extra musician with the Seattle Symphony. Further contributions include accompanying dance classes at the University of Washington as a dance accompanist and holding a pre-doctoral teaching associate position. Scott's previous roles include associate professor of music and chairperson for visual and performing arts at the College of Southern Idaho, along with teaching positions at other colleges and high schools. Scott is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Washington, building on a Master's degree from The University of Akron and dual Bachelor's degrees in Music Theory and Composition and Percussion from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
