Jennifer Gess

Program Director/associate Clinical Professor

Jennifer Gess, PhD, LMHC, LCPC, currently serves as the Counseling Department Interim Chair and Program Director/Associate Clinical Professor at Seattle University since August 2022. With extensive experience in counseling and education, Jennifer has held roles such as Clinical Training Director/Assistant Professor at The Family Institute at Northwestern University and Core Faculty at Walden University. In addition to academic positions, Jennifer operates Jennifer Gess Consulting and Counseling, a consultancy and counseling practice established in September 2012. Jennifer's earlier roles include various faculty positions, child and family LGBT therapist at Navos, and co-founder of POW! (Proud Out Wonderful). Educational qualifications include a PhD in Counselor Education from Idaho State University and a Master's degree in Community Counseling from Seattle University.
