John Turner

Conservation Policy Advocate at Seatuck Environmental Association

John Turner is an experienced conservation professional with a diverse background in environmental advocacy and management. Currently serving as a Conservation Policy Advocate for Seatuck Environmental Association since May 2015, John focuses on water quality and wildlife issues, including the protection of horseshoe crabs and anadromous fish. As the Founder and President of Alula Birding & Natural History Tours, established in January 2011, John promotes the appreciation of the natural world through guided tours. In addition, John holds a part-time position as a Land Management Assistant for the Town of Brookhaven since December 2003, contributing to the Open Space Program. Previously, John held the position of Director of Conservation Programs at The Nature Conservancy from 2000 to 2003. John earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from SUNY Empire State College between 1984 and 1986.
