Amir Rahafrouz

Amir Rahafrouz has a diverse work experience in the field of data engineering and software development. Amir started their career as a Developer/SysAdmin at Linux Laboratory before moving on to work as a Software Engineer at NetEnt. At NetEnt, they were responsible for ingesting and storing data from various sources, as well as developing software and building data pipelines. Amir also played a role in the integration of NetEnt's systems with Evolution after the acquisition.

Amir then joined SEBx as a Data Engineer, where they focused on building a streaming data platform in the Cloud, utilizing tools such as Apache Beam, BigQuery, Airflow, and Spark. During their time at SEBx, they aimed to automate processes using AVRO as a governance tool.

Currently, Amir holds the position of Data Engineering Technical Lead at SEB Embedded. Their main responsibility is to build the data platform for the company.

Furthermore, they have academic experience as well, having completed a thesis on distributed orchestration framework for processing IoT data during their time at Luleå University of Technology. Amir contributed to the open-source project FiWARE FogFlow by designing a system for monitoring docker containers and developing an orchestration algorithm for edge nodes ranking.

Amir Rahafrouz has a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Software Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, which they obtained from 2011 to 2016. Amir then pursued a Master's degree in Complex Systems Engineering at Universite de Lorraine from 2017 to 2018. After that, they attended LUT University from 2017 to 2018 to obtain another Master's degree in Software Engineering. Lastly, from 2018 to 2019, Amir attended Luleå University of Technology to complete a Master's degree in Computer Science.
