Head, Brand, Marketing & Communication at SEB

Ulrika Areskog Lilja is the current Head of Group Marketing and Communication at SEB. Prior to this, they were the Executive Vice President and Head of Global Communications at Stora Enso from January 2014 to October 2021. Before that, they were the Director of External Communications at SSAB from August 2010 to December 2013, where they were responsible for the external communications of SSAB and driving its position as a producer of high strength steel. SSAB is the leading player in its domestic markets, the Nordic region and North America. SSAB is the largest manufacturer of strip products in the Nordics and the leading supplier of steel plate in North America. SSAB employs approximately 9 000 persons in 45 countries. In 2012, SSAB sales amounted to almost SEK 38.9 billion. Prior to their work at SSAB, Lilja worked as the Head of Communications at Neonet from March 2007 to June 2010, where they were responsible for the strategic planning and execution of Neonet’s Investor Relations, Marketing, Press Relations and Internal Communications with the aim of positioning Neonet well in the changing financial landscape. Neonet is a global agency brokerage firm and technology provider, offering professional market participants neutral, high speed brokerage services and advanced trading software solutions.

Ulrika Areskog Lilja has a Master of Science in Business and Economics from Uppsala University, a Business degree from the University of Lausanne - UNIL, and Studies in French from Université Paul Valéry - Montpellier III. Ulrika also has an Executive Management Program from the Stockholm School of Economics Executive Education.

They work with Mats Holmström - Chief Risk Officer, Javiera Ragnartz - Head of Investment Management, and Jonas Ahlström - Head of Baltic division. Ulrika Areskog Lilja reports to Johan Torgeby, President & CEO.
