Amitab Mukerjee is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in securities regulation and enforcement. Currently serving as Senior Special Counsel in the Office of Intelligence and Research at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since October 2012, Amitab has held various senior counsel positions within the Division of Examinations and the Division of Enforcement. Prior to this role, Amitab worked as an Attorney at Axiom and gained valuable judicial experience as a Judicial Clerk to the Hon. Shiranee Tilakawardane at the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. Amitab also served as an Associate at prominent law firms including Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP and Weil Gotshal & Manges. Amitab holds a Juris Doctor from Cardozo School of Law and an A.B. in Sociology from Vassar College.
