Amy Mayer is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in enforcement and litigation. Currently serving as Senior Counsel to the Director of Enforcement at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since October 2020, Mayer has held multiple roles within the organization, including Counsel to the Director of Enforcement and positions in the New York Regional Office. Prior to this, Mayer was a Litigation Associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP from July 2012 to October 2020, focusing on defense in regulatory investigations and complex litigation. Mayer's legal career began as an Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County District Attorney's Office and included positions as a summer associate at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP and an intern at the United States Attorney's Office. Mayer holds a Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law and a Master’s in Political Science from Duke University, complemented by a Bachelor’s in History from the University of Pennsylvania.
