Babback Sabahi is a Senior Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, currently examining investment advisers and investment companies to ensure compliance with federal securities laws. Previously, Babback served as a senior counsel in the SEC Office of International Affairs, where they advised on cross-border examinations and international initiatives. Babback's earlier experience includes roles at Mayer Brown LLP in bank regulatory practice and as a legal consultant at the International Monetary Fund. They hold a JD from Boston University School of Law and an LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, among other degrees in law. Babback also co-taught "Islamic Finance Law" at Georgetown University Law Center from 2009 to 2012.
