Christopher Carney

Christopher Carney currently serves as Senior Trial Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, a position held since January 2022. Prior to this role, Christopher Carney was Senior Litigation Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice from February 2007 to January 2022, where notable achievements included litigating numerous matters and trying 15 cases, earning recognition as the sole Senior Litigation Counsel among over 100 attorneys for handling significant, high-profile cases. Earlier legal experience includes serving as Counsel at Bingham McCutchen LLP and as an Associate at Swidler Berlin LLP and Ford Marrin, primarily in litigation. Christopher Carney holds a JD, Summa Cum Laude, from American University Washington College of Law and a BA in Government from Connecticut College.
