Derek Schoenmann

Derek Schoenmann is a Senior Counsel in the Market Abuse Unit of the Division of Enforcement at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. They previously served as Enforcement Counsel and have extensive experience in commercial litigation, particularly in securities, white collar enforcement, and employment disputes. Prior to joining the SEC, Derek worked as Counsel at Arkin Solbakken LLP and as an Associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. Derek began their legal career as an Intern at the U.S. Department of Justice, where they represented federal employees and the United States in various litigation matters. They earned a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law and a BA in History and Government from The College of William and Mary.
