Eugene Hansen

Eugene Hansen serves as Trial Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since May 2022, following a tenure at the U.S. Department of Justice as a Trial Attorney from February 2016 to May 2022, where significant responsibilities included representing the United States in condemnation litigation and leading an eight-day trial concerning the valuation of land near “Area 51.” Prior experience includes twelve years as Special Counsel at Fried Frank, focusing on international arbitration, complex commercial litigation, and appellate work, overseeing arbitration and litigation processes, team supervision, and managing discovery. Eugene began the legal career as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Richard Tallman from August 2002 to August 2003. Educational qualifications consist of a Doctor of Law (JD) from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Whitman College.
