Jessica Sims

Jessica Sims is an accomplished IT Specialist currently serving at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, focusing on cyber risk and governance since September 2019. With a robust background in IT governance, risk management, and security compliance, Jessica successfully manages an enterprise governance, risk, and compliance (eGRC) tool that supports 200 applications and 400 users. Prior to this role, Jessica had an extensive career in the Virginia National Guard, including positions as Company Commander and various IT and cybersecurity roles, where responsibilities included training personnel, managing budgets, and overseeing IT security operations. The professional journey also includes significant roles at organizations such as VariQ, CVP, ManTech, and others, contributing to projects in cloud security, IT compliance, and information security. Jessica holds a Master of Science in Information Technology from the University of Arkansas Grantham and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Virginia State University.
