Jonathan Carr

Assistant Director, Office Of The Whistleblower

Jonathan Carr has extensive experience in legal and regulatory roles, currently serving as Assistant Director in the Office of the Whistleblower at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since January 2016. Previous positions at the SEC include serving as Counsel to Commissioners Hester Peirce and Michael Piwowar, as well as Investigations Counsel in the Enforcement Division. Prior to joining the SEC, Jonathan worked at Quinn Emanuel as Of Counsel and Associate, and at Weil Gotshal and Manges as an Associate. Jonathan began a legal career as a Law Clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and also served as a Paralegal at the Federal Trade Commission. Jonathan holds a Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law, a Master of Science in Politics of the World Economy from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts in Government/Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia.
