Kaitlin Bottock has extensive experience in the field of investment management and securities regulation. Currently serving as Co-Chief Counsel and previously as Branch Chief and Senior Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since August 2014, Kaitlin has also held the role of Acting Branch Chief in 2017. Prior to this, Kaitlin worked as an Associate at Dechert LLP in the Financial Services and Investment Management division from 2011 to 2014, following a brief tenure as a Summer Associate there in 2010. Kaitlin's early legal experience includes a Summer Internship with the Federal Public Defender in the Western District of Virginia in 2009. Academically, Kaitlin earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law (2011) and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political and Social Thought with High Honors from the University of Virginia (2008), along with an Advanced High School Diploma from George Mason High School (2004).
