Karen Shimp has extensive legal experience in securities regulation and trial counsel, currently serving as Special Trial Counsel and previously as Senior Counsel at the US Securities and Exchange Commission since October 2000. Prior to this role, Karen was a Senior Associate at Miller & Chevalier from 1998 to 2000 and an Associate at Ivins, Phillips & Barker from 1996 to 1998. Karen holds a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School, obtained between 1993 and 1996, and a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Government from West Virginia Wesleyan College, earned from 1989 to 1993.
