Kelly Shoop

Kelly Shoop is currently a Branch Chief in the Office of Chief Counsel for the Division of Trading and Markets at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, a position held since 2020. Previously, they served as Special Counsel at the SEC from 2015 to 2020, focusing on broker-dealer policy matters, and as Counsel at WilmerHale, specializing in securities enforcement and litigation from 2013 to 2015. Kelly's earlier experience includes clerking for Judge Ronald Lee Gilman at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and managing artists at Colbert Artists Management. They earned a JD from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and a Bachelor of Music from DePauw University.
