Mark Rakip is currently an Accounting Branch Chief within the Office of Real Estate and Construction in the Division of Corporation Finance at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Mark is responsible for leading a team that reviews compliance of 1933 and 1934 Act filings in the real estate sector. Previously, Mark held roles within the Division including management positions in the Office of Manufacturing and rotations in the Office of Chief Accountant and Office of Risk and Strategy. Before joining the SEC in 2007, Mark worked as a Financial Analyst Manager in the external financial reporting group at Freddie Mac and began their career in public accounting with KPMG LLP. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania and Virginia.
