Matthew Cook

Matthew Cook is a Senior Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, specializing in investment management and adviser regulation since February 2017. In this role, Matthew has served in various capacities, including Senior Advisor to the Chairman and Attorney Adviser, contributing to policy recommendations for private funds. Prior to this position, Matthew worked as an Associate at Fried Frank in asset management and private equity funds from September 2008 to February 2017. Early experience includes roles as a Legislative Analyst and Paralegal at the New York County District Attorney's Office from 2002 to 2005. Matthew holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Colgate University.
