Matthew Lee

Matthew Lee works in the Office of Clearance and Settlement within the Division of Trading and Markets at the SEC, where they supervise staff and oversee various aspects of clearance and settlement, including rulemaking and data repository oversight. Previously, Matthew has held several positions at the SEC, including Assistant Director and Special Counsel, and has experience as an Associate at Baker Botts LLP. Matthew earned a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science and Leadership Studies from the University of Richmond. Additionally, they completed internships at Rappahannock Legal Services, the Spotsylvania County Administrator's Office, and with the Honorable William J. Howell.
