Michael Nakis

Michael Nakis, CPA, CFE, CAMS, currently serves as the Assistant Regional Director and Exam Manager at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission since October 2019. With prior experience as a Managing Member at Capital CPA and Advisory Group, LLP, and as a Compliance Manager at Starwood Property Trust, Michael has built a robust career in compliance and accounting. Earlier roles included Staff Accountant at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Internal Audit Manager at MetLife, Assistant Vice President/Compliance Officer at Bank of America, and Compliance Examiner at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Michael holds a Master of Science in Accounting from St. John's University, earned between 1995 and 2000.
