Michelle Danis

Assistant Director, Risk Supervised Broker-dealer Program

Michelle Danis has extensive experience in economic analysis and regulatory oversight, currently serving as an Assistant Director at the US Securities and Exchange Commission since 2004, with roles in the Risk Supervised Broker-Dealer Program and the Office of Model Analysis. Prior to this, Michelle worked as a Senior Financial Economist in the Broker-Dealer Risk Office and as a Financial Economist. Additional experience includes a position as a Financial Economist at OFHEO and as Administrator of the Triangle Census Research Data Center at the US Census Bureau. Early career experience includes research work at Nathan Associates. Michelle holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MA in Economics from Virginia Tech, a BA in Economics from William & Mary, and is a certified Regulatory and Compliance Professional® from the FINRA Institute at Georgetown.
